Kiosk gets fresh look

New loon information signs at the BMLA public acccess kiosk.

Eye-catching new signs featuring Big Mantrap’s renowned volunteer loon nesting program and loon behavior have been installed at BMLA’s kiosk at the public access.

 The new signs update information that BMLA posted in the 1990s, reflecting the continuing success of Big Mantrap’s loon management effort. The visually appealing signs should also draw attention to our kiosk. A team of board members have worked for the last year exploring options and needs for updating the kiosk, which was installed in the early 1990s.

 To accommodate the new signs, other kiosk signage has been rearranged. Other improvements include an old loon nesting buoy to grab attention and box for distributing wake boat maps with QR codes.

Thanks to Mark and Cindy Condiff and Letitia Laske for installing the new signs and reorganizing the rest of the kiosk. Thanks also to Cindy Hemingway for her eye-catching, professional sign design and the Steve Maanum for sharing his photos that tell the story so well.
